Following last week’s election, newly re-elected Vale of Glamorgan Assembly Member Jane Hutt, has thanked voters for their support. She said:
“I am extremely honoured to have been re-elected to serve the Vale of Glamorgan as your AM and would like to thank voters for their support.
I was always determined to be positive throughout the campaign and deal with all questions, criticisms and feedback as openly as possible. I respect the people I represent and I learn from them on a daily basis- especially during the intensity of a campaign. This was particularly the case with local issues I am involved in – such as when I caught the no 98 with bus passengers to check out the route and see if improvements could be made, or when I talked to the many people who believe the proposed closure of the Barry Crown Post Office an appalling loss of service, or meeting with the people of Treoes, as they face more incursion from the local industrial estate. Also, when supporting the Ogmore by Sea Village Hall Association who desperately need a Community Centre, or meeting workforce representatives and management from BAMC and Aberthaw.
I will continue to work tirelessly to serve the Vale in the way I have done for the past 17 yearsand secure a great many more improvements- including better bus services and a more frequent train service on the Vale line from Barry to Rhoose, Llantwit Major and Bridgend. I will continue to support the regeneration of Barry and will back our airport, BAMC and Aston Martin. I want to make sure there is no fracking in the Vale of Glamorgan and give our young people the best educational opportunities with new childcare promises. I remain deeply committed to supporting vulnerable people and those who do not have a strong voice in the Vale.
I will be holding a surgery on Friday 13 May, 4-6pm at the Citizens Advice Bureau, 119 Broad St Barry CF62 7TZ. Please come along if I can be of any assistance-no appointment necessary.
Please do not hesitate to contact me on 01446 740981 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you once again for your support.”
