On Friday October 14th, Jane Hutt AM hosted a reception for the Between the Lines exhibition, currently on display in the Senedd-the Mayor of Vale of Glamorgan and High Sheriff both attended.
The exhibition is a unique record of community life in Wales and UK that now comprises more than 65 people. Each person featured in the exhibition has been nominated by one of the other subjects.
The project was conceived by Barry artist Glyn Pooley, who, back in 2011, began a series of portraits of people he knew, and who he felt had touched the community in some way. He asked the people he drew to recommend a person they knew personally and who they felt had made an outstanding contribution to the community.
Below are some quotes from those who saw the exhibition:
“I found it inspirational and thought of my own life and those of others” – Stuart Egan ( Mayor of Vale ).
“I hope this exhibition keeps going. It is so interesting to read an individual’s philosophy. I found myself writing mine!”- Susan Fry.
