Vale AM Jane Hutt was delighted to celebrate the 15th birthday of The Better Advice, Better Lives project – a unique scheme that has been funded by the Welsh Government and managed by Citizens Advice Cymru since April 2012.
An income maximisation programme aimed at reducing poverty, Better Advice, Better Lives, operates in every local authority in Wales. In the past year it has helped more than 18, 637 people across Wales with more than 46,000 issues.
In total, since the start of the project more than 72,000 people have been helped with confirmed gains of more than £66.5 million.
Jane said: “I am proud to say that I have been involved with this innovative scheme since its start. I funded it as Health Minister back in 2001 when it began life as a pilot.”
