On February 16th, Vale AM Jane Hutt attended the launch of the Practical Autism Toolkit iBook with Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Education, Councillor Lis Burnett.
The iBook is a highly effective, interactive resource which has been developed through collaboration with pupils with Autism and the wonderful people who support them. Ysgol Y Deri will make this resource available through their website. The book includes photos, audio and video clips to describe strategies for creating autism friendly environments and to help support pupils at school. The Welsh Government has supported this project through the Autism Strategy Fund. Ysgol Y Deri received £5k of ASD strategy Funding which they have used to develop this resource. The resource is designed to evolve as the schools involved continue to collaborate and work with young people with autism
The Practical Autism Toolkit will be freely available to download for schools, parents and professionals working with young people with autism.
