Vale of Glamorgan  AM Jane Hutt visited the St Athan Community Library, which is now run by volunteers with the support of the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

With over 16 volunteers, the library is open part-time during the week and has close links with the school and local organisations like the WI.

Activities are also held such as a craft event for children during half term and the charity has a tombola to raise funds.  On Thursday 2nd March, St Athan library will be open from 0830 – 1830 with a variety of events for World Book Day. Jane Hutt said,

” I am so impressed with the commitment and dedication of the volunteers who have worked so hard to set up this local charity to serve the St. Athan community. It was great to see the computers being used by both children and adults.

This is a wonderful example of community commitment.”
