Jane secured a commitment from the Welsh Government to instruct Natural Resources Wales (NRW) to meet the public, with scientists, about Hinkley Point, with an agreement to report back to the Assembly on this important public engagement. She expects this public contact to be open and transparent, as it is clear that the public is not, and has not, been convinced by their evidence so far.
Jane Hutt said:
“It is the assurance of a safeguard that we need here. There must be respect and recognition of my constituents and their concerns. Safeguards must be provided via independent examination, scrutiny and monitoring.”
