I hosted my fourth Macmillan Coffee morning at Golau Caredig, Barry, recently, and thanks to the Hafod team, volunteers and residents we raised £700! This is the 28th year of Macmillan’s flagship fundraising event, which raised more than £26 million in the UK last year.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning has grown over the years – with nearly 200,000 people planning on taking part in homes, workplaces and schools across the country in 2019- the idea remains as simple as ever: come together in support of people living with cancer and raise money for Macmillan.
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event, particularly the Hafod team who worked so hard on the day, and organised everything so well. This is the fourth year that we have collaborated to host a Macmillan coffee morning, and I look forward to another successful day next year.
Among others, it was so nice to chat to Barry Mayor Cllr Margaret Wilkinson, Jayne Norman (consort), Golau Caredig Manager Miles Utting, residents, friends and family, including Heather Parker, June, Kristie and baby Freya, Sheila Lye, Caroline Goddard, Maggie Payne and not forgetting the Guide Dogs Association volunteers. Thank you all for coming.
